My wife and I have had the privilege of visiting Costa Rica on numerous occasions. We've sought both relaxation and professional inspiration here, and have found both in abundance. Each stay, whether in a humble abode or a lavish estate, always left us with cherished memories and stories to share.
When the idea of purchasing a property surfaced, it wasn't just about securing a grand residence. Costa Rica, in its essence, offers unparalleled experiences, even in the simplest of accommodations. Thus, our aim became a fusion of our personal favorites from our various stays.
We prioritized being near the airport, leading us to areas north of Tamarindo, and as far up as Playa Inguanita. An ocean view was non-negotiable, but we also didn’t want to be isolated from the lively beach atmosphere.
Balancing modern conveniences with the charm of Costa Rica, we hoped for a location with smoother roads. We've had our share of adventurous drives on challenging terrains, but for our property, ease was essential. Places like Ocotal have their allure, but we felt the need for somewhere slightly more built out, yet close to main towns.
Our search took us through renowned neighborhoods like Mar Vista in Playa Flamingo and Senderos in Tamarindo. These locations were magnificent but felt a bit removed from our vision, particularly in terms of accessibility from the airport.
After extensively touring over 30 properties, we chanced upon the community of Pacifico. This community wasn’t unfamiliar – its nearby supermarket was our go-to during many visits but we’d never actually been inside. The entrance alone, with its manicured landscaping and pristine roads, hinted at the promise within. The property we viewed there seemed as if it was waiting for us – a harmonious blend of our tastes and preferences. I could already envision evenings on the patio, grilling and gazing at the ocean, while the serene layout appealed to my wife's desire for simplicity and modernity.
Recognizing its alignment with what we both wanted, we promptly made an offer on the property, and that is how we came to own Villa Valhalla.
